#YoloKindness

Many people are voting daily on a Yolo County social media poll to rate their favorite #YoloKindness organization.  The Yolo Food Bank made it to #1 on March 30th.  Over 700 people have come together to help in emergency food distribution in West Sacramento and county-wide in the last two in a half weeks. See more about how you can help the Yolo Food Bank.  On March 31st, First In Relief for Evacuees Foundation was honored! They are the official donation collectors for Yolo County and have been taking in PPEs for Woodland Memorial Health and Dignity Health as well as other coordination and distribution services. http://firstinrelief.com/covid19

Go On A "Bear Hunt" With Your Family

While hangouts and play dates are out, bear hunts are in! Across the USA and the world, neighbors are participating in Bear Hunting. Inspired by Michael Rosen’s 1989 children’s book "We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,” kids scavenger hunt for teddy bears during their social distance walks.

Participation is easy, place a teddy bear in a street-facing window for others to find on their social distance walks. Share your favorite bear finds for friends to look out for on their bear hunt. Residents that don’t have a bear can create their own by printing one out or craft their own. West Sacramento resident Stacey Ball shared her cartooning skills on Facebook.  People and families can watch and craft paper bears together.
